2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Charity Event At Las Tiendas Village Shopping Center
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and the merchants at Las Tiendas Village Shopping Center in Chandler are hosting a fundraising event to promote awareness of Breast Cancer and support ongoing research to find a cure. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 20, from 10 am to 2 pm. Admission is free and families are invited to enjoy various activities sponsored by the Las Tiendas Village Merchants and local healthcare community.

UCR Health Centers (http://www. ucrhealthcenters. com) has invited the Mobile On-site Mammography Van which can perform mammography for ladies due for their annual screening. Insurance is accepted and appointments can be booked by calling 480-967-3767. Clients without insurance are also accepted.
Kids will enjoy the Health Safari Van by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Designed primarily for grades K-6, the Health Safari is a custom van, colorfully decorated outside and specially equipped inside to provide basic health screenings and education programs throughout the valley. The Chandler Fire Truck and PMT Ambulance will be on-site so kids can take a look inside.
Young aspiring cheerleaders can get autographs from the Arizona Cardinals Cheerleaders who will be on-site supporting the event. There will also be a bounce tent for kids and plenty of balloons to go around!
Raffle prize draws donated by the Las Tiendas Merchants will be announced at noon by Chandler Mayor Boyd Dunn! The tickets can be obtained at the community booths under the tent. Get yours early for a chance to win some exciting prizes!
Donation stations will be located throughout the center; just look for the pink boxes and show your support for breast cancer research! Ladies can also receive a free Breast Cancer Health Kit from the American Cancer Society. Slim and Tone is offering free body fat testing and an assessment of body mass index as well as demonstrating exercises that keep you fit and healthy.
Look for the booths located in the mall where attendees will be able to visit with local area physicians, get free blood pressure checks, free podiatry assessment and free chair massages. Las Tiendas Dental Group is offering dental analysis and other tips for your dental health. Local community artisans will be offering creative accessories to wear to show your support for breast cancer.
The 2007-08 Flu Shot Campaign has started at UCR Health Centers (http://www. ucrhealthcenters. com) and the public will have a chance to receive their vaccination early for the upcoming flu season. Please call 480-855-7585 for more information on the flu shot.
Food samples will be provided by Dilly's Deli and Chipotle Mexican Grill. DJ Shy will be on-site to provide music to make the day complete. This event promises to be exciting and fun for all and a great way to show your support for Breast Cancer during the month of October!
