"There's no doubt a little education goes a long way" according to Melissa Allen, Director of "3D Rescue of Arizona". Great Danes start out like any other dog, cute and cuddly, trusting and ready to stay forever as a family pet. However Grane Danes grow quickly and like any pet require stability and safety and like many breeds before them have become "trendy" and now sadly disposable.
Melissa Allen, Director of "3D Rescue of Arizona" is begging for resources to help keep these animals from being destroyed. "We need foster homes, permanent homes and most importantly the ability to educate the public that there are alternatives to giving up your Great Dane" states Allen. Allen goes on to say "as a breed specific rescue, we spend years getting to know every aspect of this breed and can help with any issues such as training, socializing or even with tips on how to move with your Great Dane."
Melissa Allen and her group routinely receive calls from the Animal Care & Control alterting her organization of a Dane in need, however according to Allen, "the phone calls are not slowing down and we need help to save these dogs from euthanasia".
