Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) January 21, 2009
The metaphorical glass ceiling is still a reality. Statistics regarding women in business have not changed much in 30 years and women account for only 15.4 percent of Fortune 500 corporate officers; 14.6 percent of Fortune 500 board members; furthermore, 8 percent of those in top-paying corporate jobs, according to Susan Colantuono, mentor, development coach, and founder of Leading Women.
The Atlanta Chapter of NLBWA is launching the first of their quarterly "Power Breakfasts" on January 22, 2009 and will feature guest speaker, Natalia Franco, Vice President, Global Marketing and Innovation with The Coca-Cola Company, The McDonald's Division. Franco joined The Coca-Cola Company in August 2006 coming from a very successful career at General Mills. With no working knowledge of the beverage business, Natalia has quickly built alliances with key McDonald's and Coca-Cola executives to drive alignment behind Marketing and Innovation areas of strategic focus for both companies to drive future growth.
"We are excited to have Natalia Franco share her success story with NLBWA. Each woman who has struggled to shatter the glass ceiling and succeeded offers not only hope to other women, but valuable insight into strategies and tactics for success that work," said Lily Z. Winsaft, Chairman of the Board for the NLBWA - Atlanta Chapter.
Online registration for the NLBWA Power Breakfast featuring Natalia Franco is open to all; members may attend this event at no charge and non-members for $25.00. Attendees may register at the door, if space permits, but pre-registration is recommended.
In addition to the Taste of Success Breakfast series, the NLBWA will launch their Think-To-Inc.® workshop series, a step-by-step analytical approach to critical business planning. The workshop will consist of six consecutive three-hour sessions highlighting important considerations when starting a new business.
