Class. com Announces TIES (MN) Partnership

Class. com Announces TIES (MN) Partnership

Class. com, the leader in e-learning, has announced a partnership with TIES, a nonprofit educational technology consortium comprised of 37 Minnesota school districts.

Lincoln, NE (PRWEB) January 19, 2004

“TIES has been providing technology and technology-based solutions to school districts since 1967, so they’re definitely experts in this area,” said Class. com CEO Katherine Endacott. “They serve schools all over the state of Minnesota, and we’re excited about working with them to make Class. com courses available to TIES participants.”

“Demand is growing across the state for online learning opportunities for students,” said Betty Schweizer, co-executive director of TIES. “With this partnership, Minnesota districts can easily adopt a complete range of online courses, from reading and math to science and business.”

While participating districts will set their own policies and use their own teachers, TIES will provide hosting, administration, technical support, and – perhaps most appealing – pooled buying power.

“The experience and buying power of a consortium such as TIES allows even smaller districts to provide students with media-rich courses they might otherwise not be able to afford,” says Endacott. “It’s a great way to help districts provide additional flexibility for students who need alternatives.”

TIES and Class. com will be working with Regional Service COOPS and individually with interested districts, regardless of TIES membership.
