Openbravo and BitRock Partner to Deliver Easy to Install Open Source ERP

Openbravo and BitRock Partner to Deliver Easy to Install Open Source ERP

Openbravo open source ERP software can now be installed in minutes.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 3, 2007

Openbravo, provider of the leading professional web-based open source enterprise management solution for small and midsize enterprises, announced today that it has partnered with BitRock to deliver an easy to use installer that allows new users to be up with a complete Openbravo ERP system in just minutes. The installation wizard automates the deployment process, so even inexperienced users can quickly install Openbravo.

Enterprise management (ERP) software is known for being highly complex and costly to implement, which keeps traditional solutions out of reach of most small to medium sized enterprises. Openbravo believes that "each company, regardless of its size, has the right to have their own ERP - owned by the company, adapted to its needs and to its budget." By partnering with BitRock, Openbravo has made its software even more accessible to SMEs, who may not have the IT resources necessary to even evaluate other solutions.

As with other solutions, Openbravo requires additional software, such as a database and web server. The Openbravo installer allows users to choose between hooking up to an existing PostgreSQL or Oracle 10g database and then automatically connects Openbravo to the chosen database and an existing Tomcat installation. This offers users the flexibility of using software already installed on their system, while still providing a fast, user-friendly installation process.

"Our goal is to make open source software easier to install, configure and update," said Erica Brescia, Vice President of Business Development for BitRock. "New Openbravo users can now install a robust ERP system with just a few clicks of the mouse - a near-impossible proposition with other ERP solutions. In addition to providing a streamlined deployment process, BitRock technology also makes it fast and easy to update the software once it is installed."

"BitRock's services have helped us to provide Openbravo in an easy to install package, virtually eliminating barriers. The automated installation process reduces installation-related support requests and costs. The BitRock team has a wide range of experience and the high quality service they provide was a key element in choosing to work with them." said Ismael Ciordia, CTO of Openbravo.

The new installers can be download from the Openbravo download section at Sourceforge.

There is also a Quick installation guide available for the installers.
