Achievement Technologies, Inc. Acquires

Project Achieve, Inc.

Online Management System for Schools & Districts

Newton, Massachusetts, November 30, 2001. Achievement Technologies, Inc., the educational software publisher known for its popular online instruction program, SkillsTutor™, has announced its acquisition of Project Achieve, Inc., of San Francisco, California. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Project Achieve is a web-based curriculum management system to assist school administrators and teachers to be more effective in managing student data.

William H. Shupert, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for Achievement Technologies said, “This strategic acquisition is the third in our quest to add strength and versatility to our web-based instruction and productivity programs. Project Achieve is an immediate complement to our current product lines. The open architecture, content, standards, assessment and reporting structure are well suited to our long-range plan to become a leading provider of Internet-based education solutions.”

Stacey Boyd, a former teacher and principal, founded Project Achieve, Inc. in 1998. The program is a secure and integrated management system that fully automates administrative processes such as student monitoring, creating lesson plans, calculating grades and recording data. Ms. BoydÂ’s vision was to develop an online standards-based instruction and data-gathering system that would assist teachers and principals. The subscription web-based technology service makes accountability much more effective by connecting up-to-date state standards and district regulations to lesson topics and objectives set by the schools.

“Over 50 schools utilize Project Achieve to simplify their administrative tasks,” said Ms. Boyd. “Schools today need automated systems to manage, analyze and keep up with prevailing accountability pressures. Joining Achievement Technologies, Inc. allows us to meet the demands of schools that want to leverage technology to improve student achievement and teacher productivity. We are excited to watch our company grow and build on its current successes through our merger with Achievement Technologies, Inc.”
