Unity Fellowship of Christ Church Marks Tenth Anniversary with Special Commemorative Events during the Month of June
A Decade of Social Justice Work to be Celebrated in a Month Long Lineup of Nationally Recognized Speakers. Service Projects and Special Events

Throughout the month of June, Unity Fellowship of Christ Church Inland Valley will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Founded in 1995 by Rev. Elder Claude Bowen (retired Pastor Emeritus), the ministry began in the living rooms of its ten founding members. Progressive dinners and bible study turned into impromptu support groups to Spiritual counseling for persons living with HIV. From the beginning the church stood as a center of hope for people living with HIV in the Inland Empire. Today the emerging church continues to inspire hope through its community service, upbeat music, and it defining message that “God is love and Love is for Everyone.” Unity is a multicultural, radically inclusive ministry that focuses on serving God through loving one another.
“This is such an exciting milestone for us,” said Pastor, Rev. Benita Ramsey. “God has allowed us to reach so many pinnacles in our ten year span. We proclaim loudly that “We are Still standing” and Serving. The church and its outreach ministries have experienced powerful ebbs and flows. Since we first began in 1995, hundreds of lives are being positively impacted, children and youth are being strengthened, and leaders are being raised up as a result of what God is doing in our ministry. For us, this is cause for celebration.”
To commemorate a decade of vision, excellence and service, Unity Fellowship has lined up the following commemorative events:
Nationally Renowned Speakers
Rev. Elder Jaclyn Holland, founder of Liberation In Truth Unity Fellowship Church, Newark New Jersey will be a featured speaker at the “The Gathering In the Park, Saturday June 24th at 10 a. m. and on Sunday, June 26th at 10:30 a. m. Service will be held at the Unity Fellowship of Christ Church Inland Valley, 3386 Durahart Street, (located in the Industrial Complex 3rd and Chicago) Archbishop Carl Bean D. M, Founder Unity Fellowship Church Movement, Former Broadway and Motown Singer and Pioneer in HIV/AIDS work is the featured Preacher at 5 p. m., Sunday June 26th. This Service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 3655 Lemon Street, Downtown Riverside, CA

Sunday June 12th - 5:30 p. m. Youth Ice Cream Social and Games Outing, First Congregational Church 3655 Lemon Street, Downtown Riverside, CA. This is a joint Youth fellowship with the First Congregational Church Youth Ministry. Saturday June 18th - 10 By 10: A Community Service Event with Surado Solutions, Inc. Local Software design company who is also celebrating its Tenth Anniversary. We will paint the homes of two families and remove fire hazard trash and debris from another. Friday June 24th –Mini Film Festival featuring the Inland Empire Premiere of “A Walk In the Light”. A Walk in the Light features Los Angeles-based Unity Fellowship Church, a politically conscious and socially aware alternative to the traditional Christian church for the African American LGBT community. Three distinct perspectives — from a former crack addict, a transgender female who becomes a grandmother, and a lesbian couple with incongruous religious backgrounds — reveal how being part of the Unity family has allowed them to replace condemnation with self-acceptance. A Walk in the Light directed by M. R. Stiff 2005 USA 27-min video. Saturday June 25th: A Gathering at the Lake: A Time for Reflection, Health and Wellness in observance of National HIV Testing Day.
