Australian Computer Society Adopts 'Adaptive Business Intelligence'
Leading ICT association adds new education module.
Adelaide, South Australia (PRWEB) May 7, 2007
SolveIT Software Pty Ltd, a leading provider of software solutions for planning and scheduling optimisation and predictive modelling, announced today that the Australian Computer Society (ACS) has adopted "Adaptive Business Intelligence" as part of its Computer Professional Education (CPe) Program.
Adaptive Business Intelligence is the discipline of using prediction and optimisation techniques to build self-learning "decisioning" systems. Software systems based upon Adaptive Business Intelligence include elements of data mining, predictive modelling, forecasting, optimisation and adaptability, and are used by business managers to make better decisions.
From July 2007, the ACS CPe Program will offer Adaptive Business Intelligence as an elective subject. The Computer Professional Education (CPE) Program is a world-class curriculum of professional development and training set within the context of an individual's work environment. It seeks to grow professionals into leaders and provide a key point of differentiation in the competitive ICT market.
"We see Adaptive Business Intelligence as an advanced, applications-oriented subject, which is both fascinating and of real career-expanding potential. We are offering it as an elective to our CPeP students and, dependent upon numbers, as a stand-alone professional development subject to all IT managers and practitioners with appropriate prior knowledge and expertise," said Dr. David Lindley, Academic Principal & Chief Examiner of the Australian Computer Society.
The Australian Computer Society is the recognised association for Information & Communications Technology (ICT) professionals, attracting a large and active membership from all levels of the ICT industry. A member of the Australian Council of Professions, the ACS is the public voice of the ICT profession and the guardian of professional ethics and standards in the ICT industry, with a commitment to the wider community to ensure the beneficial use of ICT. The society was founded in 1966. For more information, please visit: www. acs. org. au
"It is a great pleasure to collaborate with the Australian Computer Society on this exciting educational initiative," said Dr. Zbigniew Michalewicz, Chairman of the Board of SolveIT Software. "I believe that Adaptive Business Intelligence will prove to be a popular subject within the Computer Professional Education Program, generating interest and support from the entire ICT industry."
