HACC Adjunct Professor Al Wenger announces the transfer of a one-year lease on a Toyota Tundra from HACC to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank during today’s Future Farmers of America convention at the Farm Show. In the background, from left are HACC President Edna V. Baehre, Ph. D.; Central Pennsylvania Food Bank Executive Director, Kendall Hanna; and Faulkner Toyota Sales Representative John Brenner.

The truck is part of an award HACC received after being named the Outstanding Postsecondary/Adult Agricultural Education Program by the National Association of Agricultural Educators.

Agribusiness faculty and staff in the College in the High School program decided to put the truck to use within the community by handing over the lease to the food bank, which will then use the truck to collect food items for distribution.

During the Farm Show, attendees are asked to bring canned goods and other non-perishable food in order to load the truck.
