Dr. Robert Cialdini, New York Times bestselling author of Influence: Science and Practice and Yes, 50 Scientifically Proven Ways to be Persuasive, will be featured on Monday, February 29 on the VoiceAmerica internet radio show, Total Career Success. The show informs listeners and encourages them to achieve their career goals by featuring educational experts to provide advice on job search (http://www. betterjobbetterlife. com) and career advancement (http://www. totalcareersuccess. com). Dr. Cialdini will share six fundamental principles of influence based on years of research:

Reciprocity – Give first;  Scarcity – Promote the rare and unique aspects of your product or service. And say so.  Authority – Be clear about your expertise.  Consistency – Find the values/goals of the person to be influenced, and make your request consistent with those values/goals.  Consensus – Demonstrate that similar others are moving in the same direction.  Liking – Identify similarities with the person to be persuaded and bring them to the surface. “Whether you are a leader or individual contributor, in business or non-profit organizations, in sales or operations, consultant or entrepreneur, you need to learn the skill of influencing to achieve your goals,” said Ken Dawson, a show host. “Dr. Cialdini has researched the best methods of influence regardless of the situation.”

Sheryl Dawson, co-host, commented, “These approaches can dramatically improve your ability to influence people in all walks of life, family, career, business and personal. If you want to change a No to a Yes, than learn to apply these 6 principles.”

Dr. Cialdini commented, “With such fierce competition for virtually any product or service, often it is the product that is presented in the most effective and influential way that will win. People need to feel they are able to make informed choices and effective influencing skills are vital to accomplish this.”

Ken Dawson added, “During the program we will discuss specific ways in which you can apply these fundamental principles to improve your job search and career success.”
