For years, golf has been taught mostly in the left brain with hard to learn angles, techniques and motions. Golf has a history of being known as a sport that takes a long time to learn, is very boring and hard to play. Now, golf is just a 'game' to learn and play. Anyone age four and older can learn to play. Nancy uses innovative learning games that allow parents a new opportunity to spend quality time with their children, outside in a fun environment. The length of time it takes to play a round of golf provides a benefit to the family in spending more quality time together, and it is hard to put a price on that.
"Nancy translates highly complex concepts and the bio-mechanics of professional golf into stories and games that every child can engage and succeed. She has a special gift of actually 'playing' and engaging children the game of golf. Play on the surface and learning takes place automatically beneath our awareness. This is the key to real learning and optimum performance at any age, mastering any activity." According to Michael Mendizza, Founder of Touch the Future, Producer of Golf and the Intelligence of Plan, and co-author of "Magical Parent-Magical Child" with Joseph Chilton Pearce.
When Nancy became an LPGA Professional, she believed the learning experience needed to change to grow the game. In particular, how the game could be introduced to children in such a way that would captivate them and help to develop other skills and foundations. She wanted to provide a more innovative and creative experience that would develop more self awareness, more exploration and more interest leading to quicker retention of the game. Traditional golf fundamentals needed to be presented in a more simple, easy, and fun format. Presenting it in such a fashion, encourages parent-child participation which makes golf more of a family game.
Nancy's new patented (http://www. faqs. org/patents/app/20090004635) recipe for growing the game is working and loved by the parents. Parents are welcomed to participate and 'play' during the child's learning experiences. Nancy believes parents need to be educated with the children so they are on the same page and can both learn the techniques which make the game so easy to learn and play. The parent's golf skills are being established or reinforced while their children are learning to love the game. Kids are spending more time with their parents practicing and playing, they are experiencing golf together in a new innovative learning environment. Watch out because you should see younger players coming to a golf course near you. People should learn to respect and help these little ones for they are the next generation of players that will take to the public and private golf courses and they have a few teaching games to help you have more fun.
