Big Rapids, MI - The Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University (FSU) Big Rapids campus, is scheduled to open January 3, 2011. Clark Construction has served as the Construction Manager for this project.

The Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University (FSU) Big Rapids campus, is scheduled to open January 3, 2011. Clark Construction has served as the Construction Manager for this project.

“The Michigan College of Optometry is a state-of-the-art facility of which the Ferris State community can be very proud,” said Ted Ryskamp, Project Director at Clark Construction. “The addition of this building will allow Ferris State University to enhance its reputation as a national leader in optometry education and training.”

The $22 million facility will provide classroom, laboratory and clinical spaces as well as faculty offices and administrative spaces for the College of Optometry and other departments. The ground floor optometry clinic will provide eye and vision services to students, faculty, staff, and surrounding Mecosta County residents as well as offer clinical training for optometry interns. New voice and data communication systems have been implemented in addition to new parking, landscaping and storm water management.
