After the successful launch of SCB Access™ Enterprise Edition which broke new ground by allowing midsize companies to get access to Single Sign-On technology and smart card security, SCB Solutions is launching SCB Access™ Professional Edition. This new product will give to smaller organizations the same level of convenience and security.
SCB Access™ is an affordable solution for Secure Logon and Single Sign-On applications. A user can now access a PC or an application by inserting a smart card and a PIN code. With SCB Access™, usernames and passwords can be securely encrypted and stored on a smart card or key token. Usernames and passwords are then submitted automatically to the appropriate applications. Users need to remember only one password to unlock their smart card or token. All the others can be forgotten; no more need for unsafe stickies to remember their passwords.
SCB Access™ Professional Edition consists of three modules:
SCB Access™ Administration - to manage user profiles and smart card parameters SCB Secure Logon™ - to control access to the PC SCB Single Sign-On™ - to control access to PC and web applications
SCB Access™ Professional Edition does not rely on central administration, such as a complex LDAP directory server. SCB Access allows small organizations that don’t have the skills or the means to deploy a full PKI architecture to have access to smart card and Single Sign-On technology. However, SCB Access™ has been designed using well defined technology standards including PC/SC (the Microsoft-led workgroup that set the standard for integrating smart cards and smart card readers into PCs) and PKCS (the Public-Key Cryptography Standards are specifications produced by RSA Laboratories) allowing an easy migration toward a full PKI system if customers choose to do so eventually.
SCB Access™ is extremely user friendly. The heavy administration tools usually associated with Single Sign-On technologies have been replaced by a user-friendly wizard that allows the additions of new applications or passwords in just a few clicks.
