Pacific Northwest Karate Center Instructs Free Kid Safe Program as a Community Event

Kid safe seminar every Saturday at 11:00 AM (free) at Shayne Simpson's Pacific Northwest Karate Center.

Bellingham, WA (PRWEB) May 8, 2006

Shayne Simpson's Pacific Northwest Karate Center presents the nationally recognized Kid Safe Program as a free community event for school age children from 5 to 12 years on Saturday, May 13th at 11:00 am. This special event will be held at Pacific Northwest Karate Center's location at 1600 Kentucky Street Sweet B4. Expert instructors will teach children how to protect themselves against abduction and exploitation. The curriculum provides children with the skills they need to be assertive, smart, strong, and most importantly, safe.

The FBI National Crime Information Center cites that 2,200 children are reported missing each day, every five minutes a child is reported missing, and 80% of child abductions occur within a quarter mile of the child's home. Yet the NCIC believes many children can be protected with the proper prevention education.

The summer months are particularly dangerous for children because of the added exposure when out of school. To help protect and prepare our community's children for a safe summer, Pacific Northwest Karate Center is providing these free seminars of the nationally recognized Kid Safe Program.

Kid-Safe is an event where parents, students, friends, and family members are encouraged to participate.
