New Resource for Women's Financial Empowerment is Introduced in Response to Unprecedented Need for Education & Information

Facing global economic challenges, women can now find lessons in financial literacy, stories, and a supportive community by visiting the new 2bempowered. com financial blog.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) May 13, 2009

While we have seen the progress of women breaking through "the glass ceiling" and allowing them to move into leadership positions in politics and the corporate sector, there are still many women throughout the world who, for many different reasons, lack the financial literacy or knowledge that will enable them to make sound financial decisions. Even in this new millennium, a time when women are making so many great strides in the workforce and the global power structure -- and mothers who elect to work at home caring for their children are finally getting the respect they have long deserved -- many women still think of talk about money as "off limits," a subject best left to their husband, significant other, friend or financial advisor. As we all are now facing unprecedented economic challenges, and recognizing the urgency of breaking down these barriers, the new website 2bempowered. com has now been expanded to include a blog offering online visitors this much-needed financial education.

In launching this financial blog, Toronto-based health and wellness practitioner Sandra Finkelstein, the creator of 2bempowered. com, has teamed up with Maritza Beltre, CFO of a successful Wall Street investment firm. Together they are offering inspiration and lessons in the financial fundamentals that women need to know to truly be empowered with respect to money management. The co-founders of this new blog will also be sharing the lessons they've learned by confronting financial challenges in their own lives, the lives of clients and many others. They will also draw on the knowledge and awareness of professionals in the financial sector and feature questions posed by women seeking to expand their awareness in this area.

With new information posted several times each month, those who visit this new blog -- 2bempowered financial blog (http://2bempowered. com/category/financial-empowerment/) -- will learn:
How our financial habits and relationship to money is established, and how we can shift our paradigms and our core belief systems. What is money and our relationship to it? "User-friendly" definitions of important financial terms and concepts necessary for sound financial decision-making. The "nuts and bolts" of finance, including how to establish and stick to a budget, the difference between various bank accounts (savings, chequing, and others), how credit can be used and misused.  Through stories and shared wisdom, how other women, from a wide variety of backgrounds, have overcome unexpected financial challenges.  Answers to questions (both basic and sophisticated) regarding economics and financial terms.   How to break disempowering behavioral cycles, and how to teach our children the importance of living within their means and not on credit.   How to take the emotions of fear and panic out of financial decision making and create the abundance that you want!

2bempowered. com (http://2bempowered. com/) is a new website designed to inspire and empower women and youth by sharing personal stories and recommending books, CDs, DVDs, courses and other resources that offer insight into a wide variety of areas including health, spirituality, relationships and environmental conservation. Active in the field of health and wellness, Sandra Finkelstein recognized the need for a commercial-free website focusing on women and empowerment, healing and breaking cycles. Responding to that need, in early 2009 Finkelstein launched 2bempowered. com. Born in the Dominican Republic, Maritza Beltre came to the U. S. determined to achieve success and fulfill her dreams. Through hard work and determination, she rose through New York City's competitive financial sector, to become CFO of a successful Wall Street investment firm and looks to empower women in this area.
