"Sweet Stache" Celeb Humor Book Released in Time for Father's Day

"My father once shaved off his mustache after having it all his entire adult life. My mom freaked out and immediately told him to grow it back. As a seven year old, I was traumatized, and my dad has never shaved it off since," recalls Jon Chattman, co-author of SWEET 'STACHE: 50 Badass Mustaches and the Faces Who Sport Them (Adams Media; May).

Westchester County, NY (PRWEB) May 28, 2009

"My father once shaved off his mustache after having it all his entire adult life. My mom freaked out and immediately told him to grow it back. As a seven year old, I was traumatized, and my dad has never shaved it off since," recalls Jon Chattman, co-author of SWEET 'STACHE: 50 Badass Mustaches and the Faces Who Sport Them (http://thecheappop. com/sweet-stache/) (Adams Media; May).

Just in time for Father's Day, Chattman, a pop culture writer (Huffington Post, Spinner. com) and founder of pop-humor site TheCheapPop. com (http://thecheappop. com), and Rich Tarantino have released a humor book that pays homage to this season's must-have male accessory: the mustache. From politicians (William H. Taft) and ball players (Keith Hernandez) to pop stars (Lionel Richie) and actors (Jason Lee), this book - profiled in the June 1 National Enquirer - profiles fifty famous faces with wit and humor.

"Your dad has plenty of ties and golf clubs, give him a gift that honors a fad that never goes out of style," Chattman explained.

Adding to that, Tarantino noted, "A mustache is not just some hair under your nose anymore, it's a way of life and this book proves that. 'Sweet Stache' will do for facial fuzz what 'The Wizard of Oz' did for flying monkeys.'"

The authors feature 'stache-analysis for forty-nine men and one woman (we can't forget Frida Kahlo!) who made the cut of top pushbrooms. Led by a foreword from former mustachioed icon John Oates (of Hall & Oates) and illustrations from porkchop-sideburned artist Brett Underhill, the book is complete with 'stache trivia and celebrity insight from the likes of Paul Rudd, Michael Cera, and Artie Lange, this book is a reader's guide to getting in on the mustache action.

Brad Pitt has reportedly said it's his "goal" to bring back the mustache. He's clearly getting his wish. Now that having a mustache is cool again, men everywhere are joining the cause and saving the mustache from extinction.

"Mustaches are the Cher Farewell Tour of a man's face," Chattman explained. "Every time you think they're over, they pop up again stronger than ever."

This book proves just that. As Meredith Vieira of The Today Show says, "I am personally offended by this book as my mustache wasn't included. However, I endorse it because I am, and always will be, a huge fan of Tom Selleck's 'stache."

Sweet Stache is now available in Barnes and Noble, Borders, and Urban Outfitters stores - to name a few - and available online at Amazon. com (http://www. amazon. com/Sweet-Stache-Badass-Mustaches-Faces/dp/1440501440) and Target. com.
