Rutgers University Creates "Year-at-a-Glance" Planner to Assist Training Managers and Human Resource Managers In Mapping Out Employee Education Needs

Rutgers University has created a “Year-at-a-Glance” planning document aimed at assisting employees training managers and directors, and human resource managers in mapping out training programs for the year.

(PRWEB) April 20, 2010

Training managers, HR professionals, and employees seeking to coordinate training programs throughout the year now have a new resource. The Rutgers Institute for Management and Executive Development (IMED) offers a “Year-at-a-Glance” planning brochure that can be downloaded at http://imed. rutgers. edu/year-at-a-glance/ (http://imed. rutgers. edu/year-at-a-glance/).

The brochure offers a schedule of open enrollment Rutgers IMED programs, such as Leading Bold Change, a popular program focused on change management, and such courses as Financial Management, Lean & Six Sigma, and Project Management.

“We created the planner brochure because our clients wanted to plan strategically for programs over the year and not necessarily ad-hoc or on the spot. Training managers and human resource directors can now connect their internal programs with the entire year of Rutgers courses,” says Ray Compari, associate dean at the Rutgers School of Business–Camden and director of the Rutgers IMED. “Individual employees can also use the document to create their own professional development plans,” adds Compari.

The planning brochure features a new program called Leading Bold Change, which will be held at the aLoft Hotel (http://www. starwoodhotels. com/alofthotels/property/overview/index. html? propertyID=3082&EM=VTY_AL_3082_MOUNTLAUREL_PROP_OVERVIEW) in Mount Laurel on Tuesday, May 25. More information on the program, as well as individual or group enrollments can be found at change. rutgers. edu (http://change. rutgers. edu). Kotter-certified and Rutgers program faculty member Jim Pantall will teach the course. “This program helps individuals and organizations work through the change process by helping folks to lead, understand the vision and create a sustainable plan for change,” says Pantall.

Core and successful programs include Lean & Six Sigma and a dual certificate in project management. "Green Belts trained in the Lean Six Sigma process as part of the Rutgers-Lockheed alliance hit the ground running here and have contributed many significant process improvements. This investment continues to pay dividends by maximizing the efficiency of our operations, which enhances the services we provide to our patients," states John Muka, director of the Lean Six Sigma Initiatives at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
