Film-Industry Staple The Writers Store Announces Grand Opening in Burbank
Screenwriting resource celebrates relocation with party and giveaways of Final Draft software, and more
Burbank, CA (PRWEB) August 26, 2010
The Writers Store today announced details on the relocation of their retail operations from West Los Angeles to Burbank, CA. This larger and cutting-edge storefront represents a continued investment in the next gen of screenwriting, and was expressly designed to accommodate an ever-growing event calendar, including courses, workshops, and one-on-one coaching.
“The Writers Store has been proudly independent since day one, and we’ve been able to grow despite these uncertain economic times by staying writer-centric and championing new talent,” said Jesse Douma, Writers Store President. “We’ve always provided a hub and a support system for writers and filmmakers, so an expansion to Industry-centric Burbank is a natural fit.”
Since The Writers Store opened in 1982, they’ve helped more than 500,000 writers and filmmakers discover the inspiration they need to express their artistic vision, including box-office success stories Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) and Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker), the teams behind Mad Men and Modern Family, and many more. From these masters of the craft to the hopeful aspirant, writers and filmmakers know: When you need artistic guidance, you turn to The Writers Store.
Located at 3510 W. Magnolia Blvd., The Writers Store’s Grand Opening will take place on Thursday, September 16, beginning when the doors open at 10:00 am. Illustrious screenwriters, authors, publishers, and other industry icons will be on hand to fete the new digs. Attendees will enjoy all sorts of special deals and tons of freebies, like software, scripts, books, supplies, and more. The festivities continue with a Wine & Cheese Party beginning at 4:00 pm, and the giveaways go on until closing at 8:00 pm.
