IT*SECURITY Magazine to Debut in February
Leading security organizations and experts from business, government and academia offer strategic support to the nationÂs first professional journal focusing on IT Security & Infrastructure Protection.
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) January 5, 2005
Market Access International, the publisher of Homeland Defense Journal and a provider of integrated print, online, events and radio media services, is announcing the upcoming launch of IT*SECURITY Magazine, the premiere monthly forum for the nationwide public-private partnership to secure AmericaÂs critical infrastructures. IT*SECURITY Magazine will debut in February under the leadership of vice president and executive editor Dan Verton.
IT*SECURITY Magazine will deliver expert-driven IT security content that senior private sector executives and government decision makers can easily understand and apply rapidly to their business environment. IT*SECURITY Magazine will feature case studies focused on best practices in security and infrastructure protection, new technology previews and trends, leadership profiles and guest articles written by an editorial advisory board unmatched in its experience and expertise.
ÂI am honored to lead a new integrated media endeavor that is desperately needed in the IT security publishing industry, said Dan Verton, an award-winning journalist and author. ÂI accepted this position with one mission in mind: to help build a true partnership between the government, the private sector and academia, and to replace first-drafts of history with thoughtful editorial content written by real experts.Â
ÂDan has arranged a series of strategic partnerships with leading public and private security organizations, said Don Dickson, publisher of IT*SECURITY Magazine. ÂThis is unprecedented in IT security journalism and we believe our integrated media capabilities, including custom training and events, will greatly benefit the IT security and infrastructure protection community.Â
ÂAt IT*SECURITY Magazine, weÂve replaced non-expert journalists with experienced, learned security experts, said Verton. ÂLikewise, weÂre introducing an editorial philosophy that seeks to build a nationwide partnership and solve real problems. ItÂs easy to tear things down. But only thought leaders can build a foundation for success. And only thought leaders will write for IT*SECURITY Magazine.Â

Vice president and executive editor Dan Verton is a former senior writer for Computerworld magazine and Federal Computer Week in Washington, D. C., and is the author of three books, including ÂBlack Ice: The Invisible threat of Cyber-Terrorism (McGraw-Hill, 2003), endorsed by some of the nationÂs top experts as one of the best descriptions of the terrorist threat to critical cyber infrastructures to date. Secret Service, Library of Congress, NASAÂs Counterintelligence Division and numerous colleges and universities.
