Towson, MD (PRWEB) December 14, 2009
Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW), a leading international publisher for healthcare professionals and students, and part of Wolters Kluwer Health, has partnered with ProtoMED Medical Management Corporation (PMMC) to build a student version of its ProtoMED medical practice management software and its ProtoCHART electronic medical record (EMR) software.
Today, LWW is doubling their initial order after a successful national launch of the ProtoMED and ProtoCHART student software. ProtMED is packaged with LWW’s Comprehensive Medical Assisting Third Edition, © 2009, which is published for education institutions that offer medical assisting and medical office training.
John Goucher, Executive Editor at LWW, is pleased with the enthusiasm expressed by medical assisting faculty who are currently using the software. “Instructors are excited to see that ProtoMED addresses both practice management and EMR in one integrated software package. Of all the vendors that we reviewed, the intuitive ProtoMED and ProtoCHART products were best suited for our customers – the easy learning curve, total integration, technical support and superior technical features convinced us that ProtoMED was our vendor of choice for this project.” He added, “I believe that our ability to provide such a complete solution solidifies our position in the market and will enable us to grow sales in the coming years.”
Lawrence Walsh, CEO of PMMC, views the project as another contributing factor to ProtoMED’s growing national presence. “We are pleased more medical assisting students across the country will get to use our innovative medical office practice management and EMR software. Partnership with Lippincott Williams & Wilkins on this project provides ProtoMED with a much broader national exposure for our products – a venue beyond our typical physician office.”
The Third Edition of LWW’s Comprehensive Medical Assisting is squarely focused on electronic support resources for medical assisting students and faculty. Included in these electronic resources is the ProtoMED medical management and ProtoCHART electronic medical records that lets students get hands-on experience using practice management software in their coursework. Students using this ProtoMED will enter the workforce with solid experience using medical management software and the increasingly important electronic medical record software.
