Los Angeles, CA - The brainchild of psychiatrist Shaun Kerry, World Prosperity, Ltd. is a foundation dedicated to reforming methods of activism and helping activists redirect their energy into more effective channels.
“If we look around us, we can see many needs crying to be filled,” says Kerry. And yet, he notes, most groups seeking to right social injustice are “caught up in divisive ideological conflicts that keep them from achieving real productivity.”
The World Prosperity philosophy hinges on mindfulness - on the ability to see the entire picture and act accordingly.
“There are major problems with our political, educational, and health-care systems that people have struggled with for centuries,” Kerry says. “Imagine that all social problems are configured like a tree. Consider that there are roots, large branches, smaller branches and leaves.” World Prosperity, he explains, “intends to expose the roots and propose solutions.”
The foundation’s methods are manifold. Foremost on the agenda, however, is attempting to bring together activist groups and unite them in a unitary cause. “There are many thousands of organizations dedicated to improving society, the environment, etc.,” Kerry says. “There is everything from a group to protect the Cook Inlet in Alaska, to the Zero Population Growth Action Network. Imagine what would happen if all the concerned citizens in these groups devoted just a little time to thinking about the core causes of dysfunction that influence all of society. Doing that would cost no money, and help everyone’s cause.”
Traditional methods just don’t work, Kerry maintains. “We are all interdependent and must pull together if we are to advance our culture.”
