Webcaster Alliance Inc. Petitions ICANN to Open GO DADDY Investigation

Webcaster Alliance Inc. Petitions ICANN to Open GO DADDY Investigation.

Organization asserts GO DADDY may be violating ICANN's Registrar Accreditation Agreement

New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) November 18, 2003 -

Webcaster Alliance, Inc. has begun the process of formally petitioning the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to open an investigation into the domain registration practices of GO DADDY Software, Inc., for potential violations of the ICANN Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA).

"We believe there are serious issues with the Domains By Proxy service offered by GO DADDY," says George Bundy, Secretary of Webcaster Alliance and CEO of BRS Media in San Francisco.

"We made the horrible mistake of registering our domain name through GO DADDY's service and have been caught since August in a hellish nightmare that has included GO DADDY hijacking our domain name for their own profit and gain, which clearly indicates they are warehousing and speculating on domain names" Ann Gabriel, President of Webcaster Alliance explained. "We have spent some time researching this service and apparently we aren't the only ones this has happened to. We encourage others who have had problems with GO DADDY's 'Domains By Proxy' service to contact us to see if they are eligible to join in on any legal action we might pursue against GO DADDY Software, Inc. in this matter."

The problem began when Gabriel contacted GO DADDY in August to update the DNS information. She was then informed that the domain was registered under Domains By Proxy, and unless she could provide specific information, GO DADDY refused to allow any changes to be made.

"From there on the whole process went downhill," Gabriel explained, "The person who had originally taken care of the domain registration was out of business and I had no way to provide GO DADDY with the personal information given at the time of registration GO DADDY was requesting."

"I submitted every document they requested of me and they said they would get back with me. I explained verbally and in writing that our organization had filed suit against the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and thousands of people, including journalists from all over the world visited our site on a regular basis for news and information. They kept promising to look into the matter, but nothing was ever done and despite my pleas, they refused to update the contact information and forced our domain name into expiration. Shortly thereafter, they redirected our URL to their own page advertising GO DADDY products and services and began benefiting from the respective traffic we've built up over the last year, for their own Corporate gain."

"I have dealt with similar situations through other domain registrars, especially Network Solutions and have never, EVER run into anything like this. When it became apparent that GO DADDY was going to force our domain into expiration we immediately took steps to register a new URL 'WebcastersAlliance. com' (http://www. webcastersalliance. com (http://www. webcastersalliance. com)) and put the site up under the new domain to mitigate our damages as much as possible. The problem is we rely on the traffic and the donations from our supporters in our fight against the RIAA. If they can't find us they have no way of knowing what is happening with our organization and no way to donate and continue supporting our cause."

George Bundy states, "We want to encourage others who have had an issue with GO DADDY's 'Domains By Proxy' service to contact us and let us know, not only so we can pass the information along to our attorneys, but so that we can give the information to ICANN in support of our claims."

New Resource for Women's Financial Empowerment is Introduced in Response to Unprecedented Need for Education & Information

New Resource for Women's Financial Empowerment is Introduced in Response to Unprecedented Need for Education & Information

Facing global economic challenges, women can now find lessons in financial literacy, stories, and a supportive community by visiting the new 2bempowered. com financial blog.

Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) May 13, 2009

While we have seen the progress of women breaking through "the glass ceiling" and allowing them to move into leadership positions in politics and the corporate sector, there are still many women throughout the world who, for many different reasons, lack the financial literacy or knowledge that will enable them to make sound financial decisions. Even in this new millennium, a time when women are making so many great strides in the workforce and the global power structure -- and mothers who elect to work at home caring for their children are finally getting the respect they have long deserved -- many women still think of talk about money as "off limits," a subject best left to their husband, significant other, friend or financial advisor. As we all are now facing unprecedented economic challenges, and recognizing the urgency of breaking down these barriers, the new website 2bempowered. com has now been expanded to include a blog offering online visitors this much-needed financial education.

In launching this financial blog, Toronto-based health and wellness practitioner Sandra Finkelstein, the creator of 2bempowered. com, has teamed up with Maritza Beltre, CFO of a successful Wall Street investment firm. Together they are offering inspiration and lessons in the financial fundamentals that women need to know to truly be empowered with respect to money management. The co-founders of this new blog will also be sharing the lessons they've learned by confronting financial challenges in their own lives, the lives of clients and many others. They will also draw on the knowledge and awareness of professionals in the financial sector and feature questions posed by women seeking to expand their awareness in this area.

With new information posted several times each month, those who visit this new blog -- 2bempowered financial blog (http://2bempowered. com/category/financial-empowerment/) -- will learn:
How our financial habits and relationship to money is established, and how we can shift our paradigms and our core belief systems. What is money and our relationship to it? "User-friendly" definitions of important financial terms and concepts necessary for sound financial decision-making. The "nuts and bolts" of finance, including how to establish and stick to a budget, the difference between various bank accounts (savings, chequing, and others), how credit can be used and misused.  Through stories and shared wisdom, how other women, from a wide variety of backgrounds, have overcome unexpected financial challenges.  Answers to questions (both basic and sophisticated) regarding economics and financial terms.   How to break disempowering behavioral cycles, and how to teach our children the importance of living within their means and not on credit.   How to take the emotions of fear and panic out of financial decision making and create the abundance that you want!

2bempowered. com (http://2bempowered. com/) is a new website designed to inspire and empower women and youth by sharing personal stories and recommending books, CDs, DVDs, courses and other resources that offer insight into a wide variety of areas including health, spirituality, relationships and environmental conservation. Active in the field of health and wellness, Sandra Finkelstein recognized the need for a commercial-free website focusing on women and empowerment, healing and breaking cycles. Responding to that need, in early 2009 Finkelstein launched 2bempowered. com. Born in the Dominican Republic, Maritza Beltre came to the U. S. determined to achieve success and fulfill her dreams. Through hard work and determination, she rose through New York City's competitive financial sector, to become CFO of a successful Wall Street investment firm and looks to empower women in this area.

Tatyana MamonovaÂ’s 25 Years in Exile: Press Conference and Exhibition

Tatyana MamonovaÂ’s 25 Years in Exile: Press Conference and Exhibition

Woman and Earth Press Conference “Tatyana Mamonov’s 25 Years in Exile: Celebrating Tatyana Mamonova’s and Woman and Earth’s Promotion of Russian Women, International Solidarity Between Women and a Peaceful and Sustainable Planet” Starts at 12:00 pm (noon) with Reception following. The Art Exhibition runs from 9:00am to 9:00pm July 20, 2005

NEW YORK (PRWEB) July 6, 2005

Tatyana Mamonova will be the featured speaker at an historically significant press conference and exhibition that will be held at the Moscow Conference Rooms 1 and 2 of the Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel in the center of St. Petersburg on July 20, 2005 with the press conference starting at noon sharp followed by a reception and the exhibition running throughout the day from 9:00am to 9:00pm.

On July 20, 1980, just as the Moscow Olympic Games were to start, the international democratic womenÂ’s leader, journalist, artist and poet, Tatyana Mamonova became the first female dissident exiled from her native St. Petersburg, Russia to Vienna, Austria for providing the first independent forum for Russian and Soviet womenÂ’s voices in the samizdat Woman and Russia Almanac, and for re-igniting the Russian womenÂ’s movement by founding the grassroots NGO that published the samizdat also called Woman and Russia (now called Woman and Earth).

25 years later, Tatyana Mamonova remains in exile but has grown her NGO and publication into a world renown educational, cultural and informational networking and discussion forum that serves as a unique bridge of understanding between East and West by promoting the contributions of Russian women, international solidarity between women and a peaceful and sustainable planet.

A perfect example is the continuation of the samizdat Woman and Russia, now called Woman and Earth Almanac, plus its two daughters -- two new publications which now complete the trilogy — Succes d’estime and Fotoalbum: Around the World. Copies of these publications will be distributed free of charge to participants.

In addition to educational media publications, Woman and Earth produces an award winning television series is shown on cable television in the US and organizes film festivals designed to promote productions which empower women and the earth.

Woman and EarthÂ’s Sister to Sister Educational Project has organized seven international conferences in a number of venues throughout the world, press conferences, seminars and exhibitions designed to provide gender empowerment strategies currently being implemented or being proposed that can be effectively applied to communities in all corners of the planet, as well as to promote and feature cultural contributions of women. At the local level, Woman and Earth takes a more activist role in identifying the local needs of women and the environment through the development of local chapters in various countries, as well as individual and organizational cooperation. Woman and Earth was an accredited NGO to the UN Habitat Conference that was held in Istanbul Turkey and its Turkish chapter leader helped serve on the local organizing committee. Woman and Earth and Tatyana MamonovaÂ’s mission takes a broad minded view of the meaning of womenÂ’s human rights.

The invaluable contributions of Woman and Earth by its thousands of wonderful supporters throughout the years have been led since its inception by the courage, leadership and vision of Tatyana Mamonova, who has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to humanity by her receipt of a number of accolades which include the 2002 Living Legacy Award (past recipients include US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton), 100 Heroines Award, and Femme Magazine ParisÂ’s Woman of the Year 1980 Award. French Journalist Florence Montreynaud recognized Tatyana Mamonova and Woman and EarthÂ’s publication of the first samizdat Woman and Russia Almanac as the most significant event for women in 1979 in her French Encyclopedia on WomenÂ’s contributions of the 20th Century.

Prior to her leadership of the first womenÂ’s NGO in Russia, Tatyana Mamonova was also the first women exhibitor in the non-conformist artist movement. She has exhibited and sold her award winning art in more than 25 countries and has contributed her artistic talents to a number of international human rights organizations as well as causes to help Russian women and women throughout the world. She also often donates proceeds from the sales of her art to benefit Woman and EarthÂ’s projects. Some of Tatyana MamonovaÂ’s exquisite paintings will be on display in a special exhibition set up throughout the day, as well as other documentation of 25 years of Woman and Earth activities.

The Corinthia Nevsksij Palace Hotel, a beautiful five star hotel located in the heart of St. Petersburg is only steps away from TatyanaÂ’s former residence on Pravda (truth) Street where Woman and Russia organizers met and the samizdat was first published, and Aurora Publishers, where Tatyana Mamonova left her prestigious position as a literary journalist working alongside Josef Brodsky. The Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel, has again generously offered to serve as host of this special historical Woman and Earth event. Corinthia Nevskij Palace, which is a Woman and Earth Travel Series EditorsÂ’ Choice Select Hotel, was also the host venue and sponsor of Woman and EarthÂ’s 7th International Conference, Film Festival and Exhibition in December 2003. Go to Russia Travel (www. gotorussia. net), which is an American owned full service travel management company that specializes in travel to Russia, CIS/NIS and Eastern Europe, and is based in US and Russia, has also generously continued its support of Woman and Earth for this program. This special event is held as a significant part of Woman and EarthÂ’s 25th Anniversary World Media Campaign that is being sponsored by Melia Santo Domingo Hotel, Dominican Republic, Clarion St. James and Albany Hotel Paris, Hilton La Defense Hotel Paris, Terrass Hotel Paris, Renaissance St. Petersburg Baltic Hotel, Rocco ForteÂ’s Angleterre and Astoria Hotel St. Petersburg, Corinthia Nevskij Palace Hotel, Grand Hotel Quisisana, Capri, Italy, Grand Hotel Villa Igiea, Palermo, Le Sirenuse, Positano, Rocco ForteÂ’s Hotel de Russie, Rome, with media support from CAPE (international press center Paris) and Regional Press Institute St. Petersburg.

Despite her warm welcome back to Russia to continue her activities since the beginning of glasnost, Tatyana Mamonova remains STATELESS AND WITHOUT HER RUSSIAN CITIZENSHIP. The international and Russian media as well as the world is called upon to give full attention to promoting this important and historical press conference and to work in cooperation with Woman and Earth to encourage the Russian government to restore Tatyana MamonovaÂ’s Russian citizenship in a grand manner accorded to its pioneer democratic heroes.
