Salazar to Address Environmental Educators Nov. 4

Sen. Ken Salazar will discuss environmental issues facing Colorado and the nation at the annual fundraiser for the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education, 6 p. m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the Renaissance Hotel in Denver.

Sen. Ken Salazar will deliver the keynote address at the fifth annual auction fundraiser for the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education on Friday, November 4, at the Renaissance Hotel, 3801 Quebec St. Festivities begin at 6 p. m.

The public is welcome to attend the event. A silent and live auction will raise money for CAEE’s professional development and outreach programs. Some of the auction items include a condo stay at Crested Butte, a ride on the Royal Gorge train, restaurant gift certificates, artisan handicrafts, gift baskets, adventure getaways, jewelry, autographed books, and much more.

Tickets can be purchased by calling CAEE at 303.273.9527 or by going online to www. caee. org. Individual tickets are $45 each; groups of five can be purchased for a discounted price of $200.

CAEE provides professional development, tools, training and networking to environmental educators around the state. CAEE’s members include teachers, corporate environmental managers, interpreters from state and national parks, employees of wildlife and nature preservation centers, non-profit organizations, open space and land trust managers.

CAEE has created an environmental education master plan for the state and an online database of environmental education programs offered by over 250 organizations throughout Colorado, many of which correlate to state education standards. CAEE is also working on a review process to validate the quality and accuracy of educational programs and resources provided to the public by its members.
