Pima Medical Institute Names New Associate Campus Director

Pima Medical Institute in Denver names Leanna Konechne as the new Associate Campus Director.

Pima Medical Institute, 1701 W. 72nd Ave., Suite 130 in Denver has named Leanna Konechne, as the new Associate Campus Director of the Denver Campus. Konechne, who starts her new position in June, has worked for PMI since 1985 where she was the first Program Director in Respiratory Therapy for the Tucson, AZ campus. She assisted other Program Directors with their curriculum and staff as other PMI campuses began to offer the RT program.

The Lambda Beta Society member (the national honor society for respiratory care practitioners) served on the Arizona Society for Respiratory Care as President, Vice President and member. She was one of the original members of ArizonaÂ’s state board of examiners and was influential in gaining ArizonaÂ’s licensure for Respiratory Therapy. In addition, Konechne has been active in planning the State Society Educational Seminars and was recently involved in community events such as the Asthma Walks sponsored by the American Lung Association and as a member of Camp Not A Wheeze, a camp to help children manage their asthma.

“We are extremely pleased to have someone as knowledgeable and dedicated as Leanna,” said Sue Anderson, campus director for the Denver campus. “Few practitioners achiever her level of excellence, and we are very fortunate to have her on board.”

The Denver campus has programs for: Dental Assistant; Medical Assistant; Medical Secretary, Ophthalmic Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician; Physical Therapist Assistant; Veterinary Assistant; Phlebotomy Technician and Radiography.
