In the Face of Grim Economic News, Education Publishing Company Expands to Quebec

Despite tough economic times, Western Canadian education publisher Classroom Ready Ltd., expands to Quebec; produces journals in French.

Surrey, BC (PRWEB) May 17, 2009

With a daily barrage of plant shutdowns and company layoffs, bleak economic news dominates media today. After two consecutive quarters of negative growth in Canada, many companies are desperately trying to keep their heads above water. With limited exceptions, few companies are expanding. Classroom Ready, an education publishing company from Surrey, B. C., is one of those exceptions.

Classroom Ready Ltd. recently expanded to Quebec and opened an office in Laval. The company produces weekly and monthly current events journals for elementary and high schools that include full lesson plans, puzzles and maps. They now offer these same journals in French.

"For the past six years, thousands of teachers in Western Canada and the USA have used our weekly and monthly publications to teach current events," says Mr. Dave Doble, President and CEO of Classroom Ready Ltd," We have had tremendous feedback from teachers over the years. One thing that we have been asked regularly is 'can you give us the journal in French?'

"We then decided that if we produce in French, it would make sense to expand to the largest market in French in North America, which of course is Quebec.", Mr. Doble goes on say, "The name of our French journal is Regards sur Notre Monde."

Classroom Ready Ltd mailed 2700 complimentary copies of the April National edition of Regards sur Notre Monde to all French and English schools in Quebec.

"The response so far has been terrific," says Mr. Doble, "What has been a pleasant surprise is that English Schools are ordering our French publication and some French Schools are ordering English. Teachers are using our current events journals as teaching tools for English as a Second Language, or French as a Second Language. This does make sense because the exercises are in fact lessons in reading comprehension and writing."

Mr. Doble graduated from the University of Victoria with a degree in Education. He taught in the Surrey, B. C. school district before forming Classroom Ready with his business partner, Mr. Kevin Jones who is also a teacher.

"We've always said that our journals are created by teachers for teachers. Because we have actual training and experience in the classroom, we understand what kind of education materials are best suited teachers," Mr Doble says, "All of our publications are literally ready for the classroom and require very little preparation time."

Included with each subscription is a school wide license to print.

"The teacher, or school can make as many copies as they wish," says Mr. Doble, "which makes it simple to share with students, or teachers at the school."
